Imagine it's your birthday - you have just been given a really special gift by a very special person in your life. It's something beautiful, just what you would have chosen yourself. It doesn't get much better than that, does it?
There's just one small problem.
The gift is something that needs to be on show, it is so gorgeous that it cries out to be displayed where you can admire its beauty every day and know that you life has been enriched, just by gazing on it. Only you know what this item might be. Perhaps it's an ornament, or a beautifully exotic orchid in a pot? Whatever it is, it's not the kind of thing you would want to put in a cupboard or take to the charity shop!
So, the problem is?
You don't have anywhere to put it. Every flat surface in your home is full. Shelves and surfaces, dining tables, coffee tables, top of the piano, dressing table, desk, kitchen worktop, chests of drawers - they are all covered in clutter.
So, is this a problem? Or an opportunity?
You want to display the wonderful gift. Look around at all the stuff that's taken over your living space. Is it beautiful, life enhancing, useful? When you've answered that question, you'll know where you can put your special gift.
Asking thought provoking questions of my clients is just one of the ways I get them to see their environment in a different light. Would you like to be challenged in respect of your clutter?
