Recycling your clutter? Be imaginative!

Not surprisingly, I am often perceived as someone who encourages others to part with clutter.  However, there is always a case for finding a new use for something we no longer use in the way it was originally intended.

Recently on my Facebook page there was some discussion regarding recycling greetings cards.  Clare Wildman said she makes gift tags out of her 'old, but too pretty to throw out' cards.  I thought this was a lovely way to prolong their useful life.

Last year I bought a new pair of walking boots.  My old pair had seen good service but the soles were starting to come away from the leather and a repair job would have been costly.  Somehow they just seemed too good to throw out!  Of course there was no point in just putting them away as I wouldn't have worn them.  I hope you like the photo below and that it inspires you to give some of your 'clutter' a new lease of life.  If you find a useful purpose for clutter then of course, it's no longer clutter!

I can't claim the idea, I'm afraid.  I've seen it done elsewhere.  Any old shoes or boots could be used and of course old kitchen pots and pans are another source of unusual plant containers.

Let your imagination run free!
